The Non-government Schools Registration Board is a representative board which includes a Chair, nominated by the Minister, two persons representing registered schools, two persons representing teachers of registered schools, one person representing the Catholic Education Office, one person representing parents of children in registered schools and one person representing the Department of Education.
When making appointments, the Minister will also consider the need for members collectively to have knowledge, skills and experience in areas such as education, law, corporate governance or financial management.

Members of the Board are appointed by the Minister for Education and Training for a period not exceeding three years.
